Lil Bird Family Music offers fun interactive music and movement classes for your toddlers, young children and their grown ups. Family music classes are an amazing way for any of the child's caregivers to spend time with their child. These immersive music classes are taught through playful games, Call-&-Response singing, simple instruments such as Shakers, Sticks, Drums & Scarves,
dance, laughter, inclusion and imagination.
We also offer a diverse musical repertoire of children’s songs from around the world which include non-western keys, scales and rhythms. But most importantly we have fun! And build a community of humans who
make music.

Teacher Lakshmi
Lakshmi DelSesto is a natural born singer. From an early age she was always singing. In her earliest days she would spend her time learning to sing entire albums of music, cover to cover. Soundtracks to movies and musicals such as, “A Star is Born” (Original), “The Sound of Music”, “Fiddler on the Roof” and later music such as The Pretenders, David Bowie, and Earth, Wind and Fire, and more. She was a classic hair brush microphone singer. :)
Later Lakshmi studied music in college and wrote her own major in Ethnomusicology with a minor in music & singing.
On her own, she went on to study all kinds of western and world music from Folk, to R&B, MidEast drums to Indian Kirtan harmonium.
She has been an avid performer for over 25 years and still performs regularly in professional corporate bands, with her original music trio, and whatever else comes her way.
Her musical life includes live performances, Studio work, private vocal lessons, performance coaching, creative mentoring, Children's music classes, and casual jams in many a backyard.

Lakshmi has trained, interned and taught the world renowned Music Together curriculum for 4 years and is currently offering her own brand of Children's Music Classes, both privately and in the preschools and public Schools. Her most recent endeavors placed her as an Artist in Residence teaching music at a public school for the Youth in Arts organization based in San Rafael. She has taught at several preschools including currently at Montessori School for Central Marin.
