About Lakshmi
A LIFE STEEPED IN SOUND
Lakshmi is an ecstatic multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and kirtan leader. Since 1999 she has been performing her original and sacred world music across the United States & Internationally, including Bali and Thailand. She is has been a regular Kirtan performer at many festivals such as Bhaktifest, Pranafest and Earthdance & has performed with Kirtan greats such as Jai Uttal, Krishna Das ,Suzanne Sterling & more. She is currently involved in a R&B, and Pop Dance band, and is hired regularly as a studio musician. She also teaches Vocal Sound Healing workshops, privates and programs locally and abroad.
Cedar Smoke Rises
I was visiting Joey Lugassy in Santa Monica. He had invited me down to share a Kirtan gig with him at Bhkati Yoga Shala. I was on my way out of time, but he invited me to stop by a video recording session he was having before I left. He generously let me also have a professional video taken of me, joined also by our musican friends Deepak and Eddie. It was an honor and a thrill to get to play with them and produce a pro video.
